Everyone needs and deserves a vacation. This is especially true for families with a member who has special needs. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) has a program designed specifically for families affected by Autism and other special needs.
Doug and Terri Atkins with Cruise Planners in Middleboro focus only on special needs travelers, and they are associated with RCCL and the special cruises they offer.
There are many amenities offered to these families by RCCL including priority check-in, boarding and departure, dietary accommodations, Adventure Ocean grouping by ability (rather than ages), pagers and phones for parents of children in Adventure Ocean program while signed into their care, and Autism Friendly features such as films, toy lending, and activities.
The Atkins’ both hold beliefs similar to what RCCL’s program advocates; that relaxation and family enrichment for all of those affected by the spectrum is beneficial to the family as a whole.
They are having a presentation on the RCCL program and one particular cruise – on August 26th – which was chosen because there is only one port stop and so it eliminates stress on the person with Autism.
The seminar will be held at the Cranberry County Chamber of Commerce on 9 Clayton Road in Middleboro on March 30 at 6:30. For questions or materials about the program, call Doug at (774) 766-0597 or email him at Doug.Atkins@CruisePlanners.com. They would appreciate an RSVP so they can plan to provide ample program materials for attendees.
